Product design leader with a passion for content and product strategy
For the last three years, I’ve been leading a diverse team of designers as we enhance the Intuit Mailchimp core product.
Most recently, my focus has been on releasing the new popup forms product. I’m proud to have led the design of a solution that’s not only powerful and customizable but also easy to use and customer obsessed.
In my previous role as a Principal Content Designer at Mailchimp, I managed the evolution of our voice and tone specifically focused on reducing churn with in-depth qualitative and quantitative testing
my design leadership values
Performance and talent development
To create resilient teams, I nurture talent by providing individuals opportunities that match their unique career goals. My priority first and foremost, are my direct reports— I make sure to provide my designer’s with autonomy to make strategic decisions. While I hold a high-bar for performance and craft skills, I make sure that failing is OK, as long as you learn from it.
UX design fundamentals
At my core, both in and outside of work, I believe in the power of empathy and diversity. As a design leader, I manage interdisciplinary teams, building relationships with designers to establish design practices that people want to work with and be a part of.
Result-oriented approach
A design team succeeds when we connect what we do to actual business results. By aligning our design vision with important business goals, I help my team understand the bigger picture while they concentrate on specific projects. Together, we set clear and ambitious goals, allowing individuals to direct their energy toward initiatives that make a real impact for both customers and the business.
Transparent and open communication
I do my best to foster a working environment where vulnerability and honesty are valued. I believe that feedback should be given in the moment (or close to it) to avoid fear and promote trust. I ask my team for feedback, regularly—I’m just a human, who makes mistakes (occasionally), too.
Experience
Over the last 10 years, I’ve created insight-driven, human-centered experiences for a diverse group of brands:
outside of work
When I’m not leading UX teams or designing software, I own and manage Lovesome Farm, a small flower farm in Sullivan County, NY. I use organic practices to grow diverse, beautiful blooms to share joy and beauty with my local community.
